In a significant development for Australian travellers, Go Insurance has announced the launch of its War & Armed Conflict Disruption Cover Extension.
This new offering aims to provide enhanced protection for travellers navigating the complexities of global risks.
The announcement was made in conjunction with Go Insurance's sponsorship of the Australian Travel Industry Association's (ATIA) Beyond Borders on the Road (BBOTR) event, scheduled to take place in Brisbane on 20 May 2026.

Mark Fuller, CEO of Go Insurance, expressed enthusiasm about the sponsorship and the new product, stating, "We’re excited to sponsor BBOTR Brisbane and provide an update on our first-to-market War & Armed Conflict Disruption Cover extension. The agent response has been tremendous as it gives both travellers and businesses the protection they need to travel with confidence in the current global risk environment."

The War & Armed Conflict Disruption Cover Extension is designed as a straightforward add-on for travel agents, complementing existing coverage options. This initiative reflects Go Insurance's commitment to addressing the evolving needs of travellers, particularly in light of increasing geopolitical tensions and associated travel disruptions.

Dean Long, CEO of ATIA, highlighted the event's growing popularity and the importance of meaningful content and networking opportunities. "The calibre of support BBOTR receives from members and the wider sector is a reflection of just how popular it’s become. We put a lot of effort into making sure the content is as meaningful and relevant as possible," Long noted.

ATIA, representing Australia's $69 billion travel industry, continues to support its members through initiatives like BBOTR. With over 1,120 members and 28,000 employees, ATIA plays a crucial role in the travel sector, supporting nearly 17 million Australian travellers annually.

For travellers, this new cover extension offers peace of mind, ensuring that unforeseen events related to war and armed conflicts are accounted for in their travel insurance policies. As global travel resumes and Australians look forward to exploring the world again, having comprehensive coverage that addresses contemporary risks is more important than ever.

In summary, Go Insurance's introduction of the War & Armed Conflict Disruption Cover Extension marks a proactive step in enhancing traveller protection. Coupled with their sponsorship of the BBOTR Brisbane event, Go Insurance demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting both the travel industry and Australian travellers in navigating the complexities of today's global travel landscape.
